I got older

1615

I recently (since I last wrote, but not that recently) got a year older. I achieved the age that I need to do math to remember exactly how old I am.

I’m also the age that my back constantly aches. I blame the kid who grows like a very hardy weed who really wants to be picked up and held. Birthdays provide a great opportunity to reflect and an anxiety inducing look forward. I feel old, but I don’t actually grasp being older.

“Mentally immature” describes my self awareness.

I carry a few of my aforementioned streaks with me in to my 38th year of life. I continue to read and meditate without breaks. Unfortunately, I had a 36 hour bug, which prevented me from ‘exercising.’ I disappointed myself by not displaying the fortitude to simply stretch for five minutes to keep the chain of workouts.
