Nowadays, I get a few minutes to myself at two times of the day. After the #cohabitant and I finish an episode of whichever show we’re watching (currently The Morning Show) I get a few minutes to myself while I clean some dishes, freeze some bagged milk and put together bottles for the evening feeding frenzy.
During this time, I reflect on the day and decide what I’m going to write about. I set up my tablet, put on a podcast and watch the baby monitor while I draft a post.

I should do a better job deliberately putting together my posts, but the thrill of this evening draft process is the 3-month old that could lose her shit at any time. Like most things in life over the past few months, I choose speed over form.
At some point, #Chuck not so subtly requests a bottle via shriek transmitted across the baby monitor, and I hustle up the stairs to feed her and put her back down.
It’s not the most relaxing routine, but we’ve made it our own.
And no kidding there’s my cue. Someday I’ll plan posts, craft stories and actually proof my work. For now, I’ve got a hungry baby that wants to eat and get back to bed.
#Chuck taught me a new style: Type fast, publish without apology.
