I’ve written about how having a daughter changed my perspective. As I sat on the couch watching Spaceballs and enjoying a glass of 1792 BiB, loud bangs distracted me from my peaceful evening. I instinctively checked the baby monitor to see if the illegal fireworks disrupted Charlie’s slumber.
I used to enjoy blowing off fireworks to celebrate the colonies’ declaration of independence following English intent to grow their military forces to further quell rebellion.
Now, I consider anything larger than a fire cracker an attack on my child’s peaceful sleep.
I used to be a fun guy and now I’m a crumudgeon.
It was a great weekend, which I’ve extended by taking Monday off from work. Felt like I deserved it after my week’s posts:
- Tackling 9 Months In, 9 Months Out
- Setting a #DadBod Goal
- Getting comfie working remotely
